Only just been added to The Elbow Room's accomodation offering is a lovely traditional holiday cottage which is located centrally in the beautiful northern Portuguese historic city of Guimaraes. It is situated on one of the oldest cobbled streets in Guimaraes, only a few minutes walk from Guimaraes Castle and five minutes walk from the towns historical centre.
The cottage was fully renovated in 2009 using traditional materials and incorporates terracotta and polished wood flooring with wooden beamed ceilings. All the windows are wooden framed and double glazed with internal wooden shutters. The house has been tastefully furnished using colourful fabrics which combined with traditional pottery and local watercolours has created a cozy - 'home from home feeling'.
There is street parking just outside the cottage but a car is not absolutely necessary as there are reasonable public transport links with neighbouring towns. A taxi pick up service from Porto airport (45 mins) or from Guimaraes train station (5 mins) can be arranged on request.
A welcome food and wine parcel is present on arrival and the cottage is an ideal base - close to the town centre from which you can explore Guimaraes and its surrounding area.
